Festival Award Winner 2015: Sumio Inoue

The jury chaired by Roberto Casalbuoni has awarded the Chianti Star Festival 2015 prize to Sumio Inoue, the Japanese photographer known for his series "Silenzioso": shots of monuments and cities, printed on handmade rice paper. With an elaborate process that takes several weeks, the black and white images are absorbed by the rice paper and produce an infinite gradation of nuances and shadows. Sumio Inoue’s works, which always stimulate the viewer’s imagination, can be admired worldwide. The 2015 edition of the Festival closed successfully with a large number of visitors recorded and many positive comments about all the art exhibited.
Congratulations and thanks to Sumio and to all the artists who participated. Studio Abba looks forward to organising the 2016 edition of the Chianti Star Festival!
